An Edinburgh café has been praised by Scots for its “banging value” breakfast costing just £7.
CJ’s Cafe is a family-run eatery situated in the Scottish capital’s Dalry area. Located on Dalry Road, it serves up a wide range of food and drink at prices lower than many other restaurants and cafés in the city.
One recent customer ordered a full Scottish breakfast at CJ’s Cafe, paying only £7. The meal consisted of black pudding, square sausage, toast, link sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, tattie scones, hash browns, and fried bread.
The satisfied visitor took to Reddit to share their thoughts on the meal. Posting on the ‘fryup’ community, they praised the “legendary” café’s full Scottish breakfast.
Since being shared, the post has received more than 600 ‘upvotes’. More than 60 comments have also been left, with fellow Reddit users quick to give their input.
One posted: “That looks banging value. I like how the ketchup has kicked the beans out of the ramekin too.
“It still doesn’t need to be there but it’s a brave move.”
A second agreed: “What a deal for £7, looks a belter. Made me salivate looking at that.”
Meanwhile, a third revealed: “Love CJ’s! Used to go there on route to the football, fry up and then a few pints.
“Their doubler (or tripler!) rolls are great value too.”
However, other Reddit users were left unimpressed by the look of the toast included in the breakfast. One joked: “Do they cut the toast by throwing it in the air and swinging a knife at it?”
In addition to its full Scottish breakfast, CJ’s Cafe also offers a veggie breakfast and a smaller ‘mini breakfast’. Also available are hot rolls, burgers, and chips.
