Music fans can step into the eerie shadows of Summerlee Museum after-dark for a spine-chilling night of classic horror.
The Music in the Museum programme at the Coatbridge venue continues with a screening and performance of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1920) with a live organ accompaniment on October 17.
Get in the mood for Halloween and don’t miss the 124-year-old silent thriller backed up by acclaimed organist Aaron Hawthorne.
Immerse yourself in the sinister tale of Dr Henry Jekyll , a well-respected scientist whose experiments unleash the monstrous Mr Hyde , wreaking havoc in the fog-shrouded streets of London.
The 1937 Compton Pipe Organ was designed to accompany silent films and is the perfect instrument to bring this early cinematic masterpiece to life with its shrieking sounds and thunderous rumbles.
Aaron Hawthorne, arts development officer for North Lanarkshire Council and producer of the Music in the Museum programme, told Lanarkshire Live: “This is a rare opportunity to experience one of Summerlee’s most impressive exhibits, quite literally coming to life.
“The Compton organ is the perfect accompaniment to this cinematic masterpiece.
