Susanna Reid has sparked the ire of Nigel Farage fans for expertly schooling him during his ‘car crash’ interview on Good Morning Britain.

On today’s ITV show, the presenter skewered Farage, 60, over spreading misinformation about the Southport stabbings which left him ‘squirming.’

Farage’s fans were left upset by the interview and by Reid, 53 – for essentially being really good at her job.

On X, @PeerlessTara fumed: ‘They clearly can’t stand him and when he was trying to answer their questions, when they didn’t like his truths, they just spoke over him. Rude and unprofessional. Pathetic.’

Echoing their sentiment @marathongirl35 raged: ‘#gmb Go Farage, Susanna let him have his say, don’t keep interrupting!’

@TheCommonSense also said: ‘For God sake please take these two horrifically biased and vindictive #gmb presenters off #GoodMorningBritain as soon as possible!! Just look at their body language and speaking ove @Nigel_Farage for 80% of the interview What a pair of morons.’

In addition to Farage fans losing their cool over Reid’s assured handling of the interview, many pointed out he had been ‘owned’ by the broadcaster and her co-host Ed Balls, 57.

@deanbegley1 commented: ‘I love it when Nigel Farage appears on proper TV channels & not ones that are losing £40m a year. He has just been completely owned by Susanna Reid & Ed Balls on @GMB. I do hope he’s appearing on the other channels this morning, the same thing will happen, totally exposed#GMB.’

Agreeing, @bex2188 said: ‘On what planet can you think Nigel Farage won that debate, he gets confronted and he just talks over people and shouts boring. #gmb’

@RonAdams46 also wrote: ‘Farage squirming on #gmb.’

On GMB, Reid challenged Farage and said he had been called ‘irresponsible and dangerous’ by a number of people, including Tory leadership candidate Tom Tugendhat, for claiming police withheld the truth about the person alleged to be behind the killing of three children at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.

She said: ‘He accuses you of amplifying false information. You suggested, in a video, that police withheld the truth about the person alleged to be behind this tragedy.

‘Let’s bear in mind that there is a legal process going on we don’t want to compromise.’

However, Farage interjected and said: ‘We always hide behind that.’

In shock, Reid fired back: ‘That’s the rule of law in this country, that we don’t compromise someone’s fair trial and allow the families of those who have suffered to hear the truth.’

Reid continued to tell Farage that he had repeated misinformation the alleged suspect was under surveillance.

Farage maintained: ‘Of course it’s being withheld.’

However, Reid pointed out he was conflating the Nottingham stabbings with the Southport case.

Last year, Valdo Calocane, 33, stabbed three people to death in a rampage in Nottingham. His doctor had previously warned he would ‘end up killing somebody.’

‘The truth is the suspect was not under surveillance,’ she corrected Farage about the Southport stabbings.
