Nedim Bajrami has a new superfan in Ally McCoist after pulling off a ‘sensational’ bit of skill against Lyon.
McCoist was on TNT Sports commentary for Rangers‘ Europa League clash and a frantic opening saw Rangers go behind, equalise, then go behind again in a breathless first 20 minutes. There wasn’t much time for tactical analysis with the rate the goals were going in but things soon settled down after Alexandre Lacazette put the visitors back in front.
It wasn’t long after that when Bajrami, taking up the position he is making his own out on the Rangers left, lead the charge forward. Picking up a long diagonal, he took one touch with his left foot and another with his right to explode past Ainsley Maitland-Niles. And Ibrox hero McCoist couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
As it happened live, he said in his signature tone: “Ohhh what a touch, what a touch that is.” And after a brief stoppage in play, he circled back to it. He added: “That’s sensational, that is fantastic. To catch it on the left foot, then the right foot to take it with you. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, it really is. There’s a player there.”
