A 23-year-old man has been arrested for a slashing attack on an elderly man in Greenwich Village, police said.
Tylek McPherson was nabbed Tuesday after he got into an argument with the 67-year-old victim, slashing him in the face and hand near Astor Place and East Eighth St. around 2:43 a.m. He faces charges of assault, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon.
McPherson was quickly apprehended after the attack; it’s unclear what sparked the clash. He awaits arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court.
