The former Horseshoe Bar in Ayr’s George Street could become a new convenience store, under new proposals.
Ayrshire Live can reveal that a planning application has been submitted to South Ayrshire Council seeking permission for a change of use at the old watering hole.
Agent in the proposals, which not only seek a change of use, but also alterations to the frontage, are Falkirk-based Helix Architecture Studio Ltd.
The applicant is Tajinder Pal Singh.
Back in 2017, the previous owners at The Horseshoe Bar were fined £10,000 at Edinburgh’s Court of Session for screening Sky Sports channels without a licence.
The pub subsequently closed and was placed on the market in February this year with a guide price of £76,000.
The planning application is listed as ‘pending consideration’ on South Ayrshire Council’s online planning portal and a decision is expected in November.
