HOUSTON — There were some dramatic moments Thursday morning in the sentencing phase of the Gerald Goines murder trial.
The former HPD narcotics officer had to be removed from the courtroom for what appeared to be a physical or health issue.
The video is embargoed at this point, but we can report the jury was immediately removed as well in the middle of the state’s closing argument.
Goines was convicted last week of two counts of felony murder, nearly six years after a couple died during a raid on Harding Street based on a search warrant Goines admittedly falsified.
He faces five years to life in prison for each felony murder conviction.
Check back as we bring you more on this developing story.
