A man has shared the many ways in which his life has changed for the better after he followed the advice of late TV doctor Michael Mosley. Dr Mosley, who tragically died earlier this year, is known for his fasting methods, with his 5:2 and Fast 800 plans credited by many for helping them lose weight and transform their health.
According to the Fast 800 website, the diet is “flexible”, allowing individuals to “switch easily between each approach as their needs change”. The plan involves cutting down on carbs while boosting intake of protein, healthy fats, and vegetables, aligning closely with the life-extending Mediterranean diet, which is built around fruits, vegetables, seafood, beans, and nuts.
Chris and Lindsay, a couple who both adhere to the Fast 800 lifestyle, say it has “absolutely changed our lives”. In a video shared on the official Fast 800 Instagram account, Chris said: “I lost three stone in the first twelve weeks and then trickled another stone off over the rest of the year.”
Lindsay chimed in with her own success, saying: “I’ve lost two stone in total and kept it off”. The pair embarked on their Fast 800 journey about 15 months ago, and for Chris, the most significant impact has been on “the inflammation level”.
He explained: “My eczema completely disappeared. My achy joints, arthritis in my knee doesn’t flare up. I feel like my old teenage self again.” Lindsay added: “It’s the same for me as well, I’m the fittest I’ve ever been and I’m in my 40s. Feeling great.”
Meanwhile, Dr Clare Bailey, wife of the late Michael Mosley and collaborator on several of his renowned health books, said she is “slowly but surely” beginning to share more health and food content on social platforms after her husband’s death. She said: “Not only is it important to me to continue to carry forward Michael’s legacy, but even in his absence, it’s a huge part of my life.”
Dr Bailey also released the “Fast 800 Treats Recipe Book” earlier this year, catering to those with a sweet tooth while following the Fast 800 diet plan.
