The King wants a “wedding co-ordinator” for the Scottish stately home he saved for the nation and where his foundation is headquartered.

The job at Dumfries House in Ayrshire involves selling the venue for the nuptials as well as “taking the weddings from initial stages right through to delivery”.

“We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic individual to join our Function and Events team, the candidate will assist in the planning, organising and delivery of the weddings held here at Dumfries House,” said the King’s Foundation.

“Liaising with all departments across Dumfries House to ensure a smooth running of all weddings. Replying to all wedding enquiries in a timely manner, taking the lead in organising wedding tours of Dumfries House and monitoring Sales and Marketing for events.

“The role will include all aspects of the hospitality industry with the successful candidate playing a key role in the supervision of staff. Applicants require experience within the hospitality industry (2 years minimum) and experience at a management or supervisory level would be advantageous.”

And it adds:”The work of The King’s Foundation is underpinned by our Founder His Majesty The King’s philosophy of harmony: that by understanding the balance, the order and the relationships between ourselves and the natural world we can create a more sustainable future.”

The closing date for applications is November 8 and salary is dependent on experience.

Dumfries House was purchased in 2007 by King Charles and his charity The Prince’s Foundation.

While other royal homes are used as a residence for Charles and Camilla, Dumfries House is open to the public all year round and is used for a range of education and training opportunities.

The estate stretches out over an expansive 2,000 acres and boasts a stunning 18th-century house and adventure playground.

The King is credited with “saving” the estate from disrepair, with restaurants and accommodation, as well as walking trails, open to the public.

In 2014, Queen Elizabeth visited Dumfries House for the first time to open a walled garden that was named in her honour.

Visitors are asked to put £3 in an honesty box to visit the garden.

The estate’s B&B has 22 bedrooms and prices start at £190 per room per night, according to the website.
