A man believes there’s a freckle “all men have” – and joked that it can’t be a coincidence.
TikTok user @dylanbaseball07 showed off a mark on his left arm that he believes many other lads have too. It’s left people frantically checking their skin – proving Dylan’s bonkers theory is correct in countless instances.
In the clip, he said: “Alright, I may have found something that proves that the government makes humans. Alright, every boy Duet this and see if you have that freckle right there on your arm. I guarantee you do. That freckle right there. Duet this.”
Since he uploaded the video, it’s prompted a lot of responses and many people have sent back videos of their own freckled arms. In one video, a fan showed their own arm freckle and said: “Our lives are all simulated, trust me.”
Another stunned viewer said: “I’ve got one and my brothers and father also.” And a third added: “What the… I do! This is weird.”
While Dylan jokingly theorised the freckle similarity is a sign the “government made us”, there is actually a scientific explanation behind the phenomenon.
Freckles tend to appear in the same places primarily due to genetic and environmental factors, particularly the way our skin responds to sunlight.
Freckles are largely influenced by genetic factors. People with certain skin types, especially those with fair skin, red or blonde hair, and light-colored eyes, are more prone to developing freckles. These genetic traits often cluster specific pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) in certain areas.
Variants of the MC1R gene are strongly associated with freckling. If your parents have freckles in particular areas, you might develop them in similar spots.
Lifestyle factors can also play a part. People typically expose certain parts of their skin to the sun more consistently. For instance, facial skin is almost always exposed, while other parts might be covered most of the time.
This consistent exposure pattern can lead to freckling in the same locations, which probably explains why men are finding them on similar parts of their bodies!
