A woman has been charged following a reported disturbance on a Ryanair flight to Edinburgh Airport earlier this week.

The drama unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday and saw a 29-year-old woman escorted off the plane by Police Scotland officers.

She was given a recorded police warning over the October 1, 2024 incident, after being charged by officers in connection with the disturbance.

Edinburgh Live reports the passenger was allegedly ‘verbally abusive’ to cabin crew members and sparked a heated argument with airline staff.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance on a flight arriving at Edinburgh Airport on the morning of Tuesday, 1 October, 2024. A 29-year-old woman was charged in connection and was given a Recorded Police Warning.”

A Ryanair spokesperson said: “The crew of this flight from Marrakesh to Edinburgh called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard.”

The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Edinburgh and this passenger was removed. This is now a matter for local police.”
