A one-of-a-kind Scottish home that looks straight out of a Disney movie can currently be rented out for a staycation.
The Bridge House is a unique two-bedroom castle home built on a bridge spanning the River Ardle in Perthshire. Dating back to 1881, the Category A listed property includes original features such as stone spiral stairs, traditional Scottish timber clad walls, and stone and pine flooring.
The accommodation is currently available to rent out from £195 per night through Airbnb, in addition to cleaning and service fees. Sleeping up to four guests, it looks like it would be perfect for both group trips and romantic getaways.
According to the Airbnb listing, the Bridge House has been recently renovated. Set in a “quiet, peaceful, and rural location”, it benefits from “pretty views from every window”.
Stepping inside, the property begins with a winding stone staircase up to the conservatory dining room. From here, guests can reach a cosy bedroom and a homely kitchen-slash-sitting room.
The latter features a log-burning stove, with peaceful views down along the river. It is also fully equipped with everything you could need for a home-cooked meal.
Meanwhile, the “romantic” master bedroom features a king-size four-poster bed, a smart television, an ornamental fireplace, and fitted mini-wardrobes. It also benefits from the soothing sounds of the river outside.
Outside, The Bridge House there features stone walkways that also provide idyllic river views. These connect with a veranda seating area, as well as a sauna in a small stone outbuilding.
The accommodation is currently featured as a ‘guest favourite’ on Airbnb, meaning it is amongst “the most loved homes” on the website based on visitor feedback. At the moment, it has a rating of 4.9 out of five based on 554 reviews.
One recent guest wrote: “If you want to dream with your eyes open, book a few nights with Mirian at the magnificent Bridge House. Mirian has truly created a picture book scene from every children’s fairy tale.

Meanwhile, a second posted: “What an experience! This place was beautiful inside and out! The views of the river were spectacular. The kitchen had all modern conveniences.
