AUSTIN, Texas — A gunman is still on the run following a deadly shooting that involved three people in northwest Austin.
Police say Tuesday’s shooting on Research Boulevard near Spicewood Springs Drive left one man dead and injured two others.
During their investigation, police say they learned a large group of people were meeting in the parking lot of a shopping center when a disturbance escalated into a shooting.
Police identified 17-year-old Nathan Ockleberry as the person killed in the shooting. Two other men were hurt in the incident, while the shooter fled in a vehicle.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact police at 512-974-TIPS or Capital Area Crime Stoppers through their website or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 could be available for information that leads to an arrest.
Ockleberry’s death is Austin’s 49th homicide of 2024.
