The search for missing mum Victoria Taylor has entered its fourth day, with police divers continuing to scour a river, while a touching photo of her was shared online.
The snap, showing her with her fiancé, is thought to be the last picture taken of her before she disappeared. She was last seen at her home at around 9am on Monday.
She was captured on CCTV two hours later, buying a soft drink at a BP garage near to her home, but has not contacted family or friends since.
A huge search has already taken place in the area around the home of the 34-year-old, who is believed to work as a carer, in Malton, North Yorkshire.
The Mirror reports she is described as being white and approximately 5ft 6ins tall. She was last spotted wearing blue jeans, a black Adidas original puffer jacket with white stripes down the sleeves and a grey Jack Wills hooded jumper.
North Yorkshire Police say a range of enquiries are ongoing to try and locate Victoria, with the focus of activity being in the Malton/Norton area.
Officers were earlier seen scouring the River Derwent in kayaks after it emerged that some of Victoria’s belongings were found close to the river bank.
“We are very concerned about Victoria’s whereabouts and, like her family and friends, just want to see her safe and well,” Inspector Martin Dennison from North Yorkshire Police said. Here is everything we know so far about the missing mum.
Victoria’s fiancé, Matthew Williams, posted a photo of the pair together in a lift. It is thought to be the last image taken by the mum before she went missing.
Mr Williams updated his profile picture on Facebook to display the selfie, which shows him standing behind the 34-year-old bride-to-be. Victoria is captured holding the phone up and smiling as Mr Williams holds her by the waist.
Police officers were pictured scouring a section of River Derwent in Malton, North Yorkshire, as they continued to search for Victoria this afternoon.
Marine and Underwater Search Units took to the river’s banks in kayaks whilst missing posters were put up around the market town. Police yesterday told the public they should expect to see an increased presence of officers in the town of Malton.
They are also searching the River Derwent. Inspector Leanne Anderson from North Yorkshire Police said: “There are a range of enquiries taking place to try and locate Victoria.
“This is still a missing person enquiry, and the focus of our activity is within the Malton / Norton area. Extensive searches will take place today and I would urge members of the public in the Malton / Norton areas to remain vigilant and report sightings or pass information to police immediately.” Victoria’s belongings are believed to have been found near the banks of the River Derwent, which is currently being searched.
While officers are yet to have found any trace of the missing mum, the intriguing clue emerged last night, suggesting Victoria was in the area.
The large body of water is around 23 miles southwest of Scarborough, and continues to be scoured by specialist underwater search teams.
A CCTV image of Victoria was shared by police earlier today. In the image, the mum is seen at an Marks & Spencer store inside a BP garage on Welham
Road in the Norton area of the town. She was captured at 11.35am on the day of her disappearance – two hours after she was last seen, and reportedly bought a soft drink.
Officers earlier said she was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black Adidas puffa jacket, which can be seen in the image. Victoria is believed to have also been spotted in Commercial Street, Norton, heading towards the library.
Victoria’s heartbroken sisters urged her to contact them as police divers continued searching the river yesterday. Devastated sisters Emma Worden and Heidi Baker fought back tears as they made a desperate plea for her to come home.
“Vicky, just come home. We just want her home. She’s got a little baby and her partner. We’re just so worried,” Emma said. Heidi added: “She’s a very popular person. Obviously, she’s a nurse and looked after so many people’s parents round here.”
Locals shared their sadness on social media after finding out that Victoria, who is originally from Huddersfield, was missing. One wrote: “Victoria worked at the care home where my Mum spent her final years.
“She was a real professional and I always felt my Mum (who was suffering from dementia) was 100% safe when Victoria was on shift. She is a truly lovely person and I pray she is found safe and well soon.
“My thoughts are with her family.” Another added: “Prayers for Victoria, hope she is safe first of all and soon home to her daughter and those who love her.”
