Will Young reportedly cut short a “tricky” Scots gig after he was heckled by his own fans.

The singer is believed to have made an early exit from his Dundee show after performing hit tune ‘Leave Right Now’. The Pop Idol winner was playing an intimate show at the Gardyne Theatre on Tuesday night as part of his Light it Up Live tour.

The show saw the English singer and songwriter play stripped-back versions of popular hits, as well as taking a trip down memory lane telling stories from his career. However, Young “went off” 45 minutes early after facing “some overexcited hecklers” at the venue.

The Courier reported how one fan said the musician left the stage straight after ‘Leave Right Now’, after being confronted by a woman who shouted at him to “get on with it”.

The fan said: “He did pull her up and the audience all cheered for him. He sang a couple more songs then disappeared. We didn’t really know if he was coming back but he didn’t – shame.”

According to another fan, two other people in the audience interrupted the show by “singing/talking the whole time” and were also “shouting out to hear certain songs.”

According to another fan who spoke to the newspaper, two other people in the audience were “singing/talking the whole time” and were also “shouting out to hear certain songs”.

The fan added: “(Young) a few more songs – it was great by the way – then did Leave Right Now and walked off. No goodnight, nothing. The whole audience looked stunned and confused.”

The singer is set for more Scottish dates this week, with a gig at The Queens Hall in Edinburgh on Friday, before playing at Edmiston House, next to Ibrox Stadium on Saturday.
