One of Scotland’s oldest and most famous hostelries, The Globe Inn, is shaking things up.

Established in 1610, the landmark Dumfries building is known as national Bard Robert Burns’ favourite howff.

It also has a reputation as the place to savour a wee dram or two – with more 300 Scottish and world whiskies to try.

Now, there is something new stirring within its walls that is leading visitors on a tempting taste journey through the rich tapestry of cocktail culture.

And it is The Globe Inn’s resident mixologist, Adam Baglow, who is the man of the moment with his new cocktail menu which has been called A Journey Through Time and Local Flavours.

His carefully curated selection charts the fascinating history of cocktail evolution while showcasing the finest local spirits – and he’s partnered with renowned Dumfries and Galloway businesses including Annandale Distillery, Ninefold Distillery and Crafty Distillery,home of Hills and Harbour Gin, to create the cocktails that highlight the region’s exceptional spirits.

Adam said: “We’ve poured our passion and creativity into this menu, aiming to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience.

“Each cocktail tells a story, not only of its historical origins but also of the dedication and skill that goes into producing the local spirits we feature.”

He added: “This unique menu features cocktails from various eras, starting from the 1600s to modern times. Each drink has been meticulously crafted to represent the distinct flavours and techniques of its time.

“From the smooth and complex notes of Annandale’s award-winning whiskies to the bold and aromatic flavours of Ninefold’s signature rum and the refreshing botanicals of Hills and Harbour gins, each sip is a celebration of local craftsmanship.

“A range of alcohol-free mocktails is also available, ensuring there’s something for everyone. And we are looking forward to having customers join us on this extraordinary journey through time and taste.”
