Lily Allen almost had an awkward encounter with Noel Gallagher at a star-studded party just months after details of her steamy plane romp with his brother Liam Gallagher resurfaced.
The Hard Out Here singer, 39, and the Oasis legend, 57, were among the guests celebrating Chiltern Firehouse’s 10th anniversary on Thursday night.
The London event saw the likes of Princess Beatrice, Idris Elba, and Rachel Weisz head out in their finery to celebrate, with Lily arriving in a stunning white embellished gown.
She accessorised with dangling glittering earrings, accentuated by her fiery red hair scraped into an elegant up-do.
But this could have been awkward for the music icon if she ran into Wonderwall hitmaker Noel, who rocked up to the Firehouse in casual black jeans, a T-shirt, and matching leather jacket.
As news of Oasis’ eagerly-anticipated reunion and string of shows were announced, the details of Lily’s steamy mile-high encounter with Liam, 51, once again resurfaced.
In 2018, the pop star revealed she and Liam had once got ‘hammered on a plane’ and slept together.
In the Not Fair singer’s autobiography, My Thoughts Exactly, the singer revealed they joined the mile-high club together on their way to Japan in 2009.
‘We got hammered on the plane. At some point, Liam and I found ourselves together in the toilet doing something that we shouldn’t have been doing, and it wasn’t drugs.
‘Then we were in a lie-down bed together. When we landed in Tokyo, Liam said, in his distinctive nasal twang, “What you doing now? Why don’t you come back to our hotel”… I was like, “Yeah, OK”.’
Lily revealed that it wasn’t until they landed in Japan for the Fuji Rock Festival that she remembered that Liam was – at the time – married to All Saints singer Nicole Appleton.
She added: ‘It wasn’t until the next day when he said something like, “No one can hear about this because of Nic,” then I clocked he was married.’
‘I knew Noel was married and I knew Liam had been married to Patsy Kensit. That was partly why I fancied him,’ she continued.
The Smile singer revealed that Nicole, 49, did later find out and Liam asked her to deny the rumours and tell his wife it was ‘b*****s’.
Liam and Nicole later split in 2013, and Liam is now engaged to manager and publicist Debbie Gwyther, while Lily is married to Stranger Things star David Harbour following her divorce from Sam Cooper.
It’s not the first time Lily has spoken candidly about her sex life, recently sharing the details of losing her virginity and opening up on another starry tryst in an episode of her podcast with Miquita Oliver.
Liam, meanwhile, is gearing up to go back on tour with Britpop icons Oasis – despite the ticket chaos that has surrounded the tour.
The indie rocker wasn’t present at the Chiltern Firehouse party, which saw fellow musicians Ellie Goulding, Camila Cabello, and James Blunt in attendance.
Just days before the event, Princess Beatrice announced she was pregnant with her second child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The couple had daughter Sienna, three, in 2021 – but Edoardo also has son Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie, eight, from a previous relationship.
The statement from Buckingham Palace said: ‘HRH Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring.
‘A sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.
‘His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.’
