BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – A Giles County man was arrested and charged after a search warrant was executed in Newport.
According to a release, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office said at around 4 p.m. on Oct. 3, personnel with the Sheriff’s Office, along with members from the Virginia State Police Clandestine Lab team executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Bluegrass Trail in Newport. The Sheriff’s Office said investigators seized material consistent with what’s used to create DMT, which is a schedule I controlled substance.
The Sheriff’s Office said 38-year-old Benjamin Anthony Colaianne, of Newport, was arrested and charged with one count of manufacturing a schedule I/II controlled substance and one count of possession of a schedule I/II controlled substance.
Colaianne is being held in the New River Regional Jail on no bond.
