(CNN) – The famed and scenic Blue Ridge Parkway remains closed after suffering catastrophic damage from Hurricane Helene.
The National Park Service shared pictures showing just some of the damage caused by the storm when it moved through the area last week.
A park service spokesperson said the entire length is closed as crews continue to assess the damage.
Park service employees from 32 states and Washington D.C. are helping with the recovery efforts.
Officials said it is unknown when the parkway will re-open or how much repairs will cost.
The Blue Ridge Parkway spans more than 400 miles.
Nearly 17 million people visited the parkway last year, which made it the number one most-visited National Park Service site of 2023.
