Taking off on holiday is truly an unparalleled experience.

The feeling of basking in sunshine, wriggling your toes in the sand with a beverage in your hand is unbeatable. But, if you happen to be a Benidorm enthusiast, you might have clocked a significant disparity when indulging in drink on your travels.

A man who goes by @benidorm_grumet on TikTok has shed light on something rather extraordinary about the alcohol servings at the beloved destination. He contends they are astonishingly generous, with British portions appearing week in comparison.

In a viral video, he proclaims: “There’s UK measures, and then there’s Benidorm measures.” The footage then shows a glass being filled almost halfway to the brim with alcohol.

If Benidorm is on your itinerary, it seems you’re in for a proper good time – if you’re brave enough, that is. The clip has resonated with many, amassing hundreds of likes.

One user declared in the comments: “I asked for a single when I was in a club in August. They said they don’t do singles – just doubles. So strong.”

Another chimed in with: “Love Benidorm measures. You get proper drink at good prices.” A third simply stated: “My kind of measure.” Meanwhile, another added nostalgically: “Omg flashbacks of that gin.”

Some punters suggested that large ice cubes might give the illusion of more alcohol in Benidorm measures, but seasoned fans of the resort insisted that’s not the case. One commenter even claimed that local bartenders don’t bother with measurements, and simply “pour” the spirits in.

This comes after a stark warning was issued to Brits by a Benidorm pub owner about the dangers of indulging in infamous €1 pints. The local, known on social media as @frankthestagman, has called out these bargain drinks, stating: “Let me tell you something about drinks that you get for €1. They are absolute rubbish.”

Frank has taken a stand against Spanish bars offering €1 pints, labelling them as “bottom of the barrel” venues. He advocates for the principle that “you get what you pay for”, advising holidaymakers to spend a bit more to avoid compromising on quality and risking their health.

The inexpensive drinks have been condemned by Frank as “chemical horrible rubbish”. He warned that a single bad pint could spoil an entire holiday by causing sickness.
