If you’re planning a holiday to the Costa Blanca but fancy something more tranquil than Benidorm, this “coastal gem” could be perfect for you.

Located a mere half-hour drive from Benidorm, the upmarket town of Moraira is the place to be for those seeking respite from the energetic nightlife. YouTuber ‘Benidorm by Ana’ has lauded Moraira as “charming” and a “must visit” locale that, while already favoured by Brits, is never overrun by crowds. In a recent video tour, Ana showcased the sights of the quaint town, beginning her jaunt at its beach.

She described the beach as “a pristine stretch of truly golden sand”, adding: “There’s always a spot here right by the seashore, even in peak summer months. The beach is famous for its calm waters, making it ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts. With numerous beach bars and restaurants, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun.”

Ana highlighted quaint villas directly on the beachfront available for rent – a treat for those yearning to step from bed to beach in seconds. She also reassured viewers about affordability, stating: “Prices here are also quite moderate so don’t worry, it’s not going to cost you a fortune.”

Her exploration didn’t miss Moraira’s castle either, free for history buffs to enter and positioned next to the beach. The castle has garnered an impressive four out of five stars on TripAdvisor, following 159 reviews. One review notes: “The Castillo is a lovely spot in Moraira. The castle is only small but it is right by the beach and lots of bars and restaurants so a nice view of the sea at sunrise or sunset.”

After exploring the charming town of Moraira, Ana enthused: “[It is] definitely worth considering for a lovely weekend [or a] one day getaway. Try out some incredible food, get a boat trip, just have a lovely walk and get to know its history!”

Responses poured in on Ana’s video, with one fan pleading for her to keep quiet about the town. Their comment read: “Please remove this video immediately, this is the Costa Blanca’s best kept secret.”

Another viewer remarked: “Moraira looks lovely, seems like a tranquil place and what a lovely beach. If it’s easy to travel to from Benidorm, I may visit for the day.”
