Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts were left astonished as Chris McCausland unveiled a striking transformation during the show.

The sparkling BBC One programme returned on Saturday (October 5) for its Movie Week extravaganza. Presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were once again front and centre, ushering in the celebs for another round of competition on the dance floor.

In the previous episode, Tom Dean and his professional dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova waved goodbye to the competition as they were eliminated after a tense dance-off with Toyah Wilcox and Neil Jones. This time, contestants including JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri, and Shayne Ward stepped up once more to demonstrate their dancing prowess.

Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke were at the ready to critique the night’s performances. The theme saw celebrities become movie characters from yesteryears, kicked off by a Despicable Me group performance by the professional dancers.

Yet, it was Chris who drew significant attention dressed as a character from Wayne’s World. Teamed up with Dianne Buswell, they jived to the film’s iconic tune, reports the Mirror.

Viewers quickly noted Chris’s uncanny resemblance to music sensation Lewis Capaldi, sparking a social media buzz. A digitally engaged fan remarked on X, previously known as Twitter: “Chris and Dianne were amazing.”

One fan gushed: “Honestly I’m so impressed with Chris here I’ve never seen a man who is blind that can dance it is actually brilliant. The costume is amazing. I didn’t recognise Chris here he looks like Lewis Capaldi.”

The judges, including Craig Revel-Horwood, were also taken with Chris and Diane’s routine, with Craig describing their performance as “packed full of fantastic rhythm.” This helped the dancing duo notch up a laudable score of 30 from the panel.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One.
