During Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing results show, there was a moment of unexpected hilarity. Host Claudia Winkleman was catching up with the contestants about their upcoming performances when she spoke to professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin and his partner Sam Quek.
“You’ve got a great song next week! ” Claudia enthused, leading Nikita to announce they would be performing a Samba to Shakira. He then burst into an impromptu mashup of ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ and ‘Whenever, Wherever’. However, Claudia had to cut in, correcting him, “Nikita, I love you so much but it was the other Shakira song…” This left Nikita embarrassed, covering his face as their fellow stars laughed. Attempting to sing the correct tune only caused more chuckles, prompting Claudia to interject with a fond, “I love you…” while others jokingly apologised to Shakira.
Claudia wrapped up the gaffe by saying, “It’s okay, she’s super busy, that’ll do!” Viewers erupted with laughter over a particular slip-up and raced to Twitter to voice their amusement. An amused tweeter penned: “Omfg I am absolutely CRYING at Nikita singing the wrong shakira song absolute SCENES in the Clauditorium tonight #Strictly”, while another fan commented: “Not Nikita singing the wrong Shakira song #strictly”, reports the Mirror.
A third perplexed viewer questioned: “how did nikita get the wrong song #strictly” and another remarked on the decision not to cut it from the episode saying: “So this results show isn’t live and yet they left in Nikita’s mistake about the song? ! That’s cruel! #Strictly.”

This came after Saturday night’s themed episode kicked off with the pro dancers morphing into Minions, including Kai Widdrington channeling Gru, with everyone else slipping into the iconic yellow. The celebrities and their partners dazzled with movie magic dances, decked out in stunning costumes.
Yet, Sunday’s night was tinged with sadness as Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones bid adieu to the show, landing in the bottom two alongside Paul Merson and Karen Hauer. Anticipating the weekend, Nick Knowles of DIY SOS fame had to withdraw last Friday due to an injury, thwarting his and Luba Mushtuk’s chance to perform the Charleston to ‘Rain On The Roof’ from Paddington 2.
This follows last weekend’s shock exit when Olympian Tom Dean and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova were the first couple to be voted off the show.
