Big Brother is all set for a sensational return tonight, unveiling a fresh series teeming with new faces, and stirring rumours that TOWIE star Joey Essex might join the excitement. The Essex charmer whipped fans into frenzy after appearing in Big Brother’s promotional footage, where he received a VIP tour from Selling Sunset’s Chelsea Lazkani, who playfully tried to ‘sell’ him on the idea of staying.
In the promo, Chelsea strides into the swanky residence, boasting about landing the ‘hottest property in town’, while Joey follows, exclaiming that it’s “beautiful, it’s really, really demure”. Despite the tantalising glimpse given to the reality TV favourites, they will not be featuring in the show proper.
The social media sphere erupted with feedback from fans, some expressing relief that Joey won’t make an appearance in this year’s edition focused on the regular crowd. Added vigour came from comments like: “This better not be true”, and “I hope this is fake. He can’t go on Selling Sunset and claim to buy a $5 million house and then go on Love Island AND BB“.
Pushed near their limit, one voiced: “Enough! Can I watch a programme without him popping up!?”, while another pleaded: “Pls no. He ruined love island this summer”.
Offering yet another perspective, someone stated: “Didn’t he literally just do the exact same thing a few weeks ago on Love Island? ! ? Not to hate on the lad but I think apart from this show and MAFSUK, he has done every other reality show going”, as per reports from OK!, reports the Mirror.
In his most recent TV appearance, Joey traded the glamour of Essex for Hollywood’s sparkle, enlisting Chelsea’s help to buy a property in Los Angeles. The reality star left estate agents Chelsea and Emma Hernan gobsmacked when he spontaneously jumped into the pool to impress them.
Before this, Joey was a well-known face on Love Island, where he had a whirlwind romance. He left the show with Jessy Potts during the summer, but their relationship ended after just seven weeks, despite being the only celebrity in the villa.

On Friday, September 28, Joey was spotted making a secret visit to the Big Brother set in Harlesden, London, to film parts for the series, now presented by AJ Odudu and Will Best.
