SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) — A former NFL football player is facing DUI-related charges after he was arrested last week, according to police.

Eddie Lacy, a former running back, was charged with:

  • DUI – impaired to the slightest degree
  • DUI – BAC of .08 or more
  • Extreme DUI – BAC .15 or more
  • Extreme DUI – BAC .20 or more
  • Possession of liquor in an open container

The Scottsdale Police Department said officers responded to reports of a possible impaired driver last Monday night. They spotted a vehicle matching the provided description and said they noticed multiple traffic violations committed by the vehicle before pulling it over.

After an investigation, Lacy was charged and taken to the Scottsdale City Jail.

No additional details have been released in the arrest.

The 34-year-old played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2009 to 2012 where he was part of three BCS National Championships.

In Lacy’s final college game, the 2012 BCS Championship Game against Notre Dame, he was named Offensive MVP.

In the 2013 NFL Draft, Lacy was selected 61st overall by the Green Bay Packers. He ran for nearly 1,200 yards with 11 touchdowns his first year and was named AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Lacy played four seasons for Green Bay before signing a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks in 2017.
