As the weather begins to turn colder, you’ll probably want to be warm and toasty when tucked up in bed during the evenings.
To ensure that you are kept warm all night long, it’s worth refreshing your bedding with a heavier duvet. You should ideally aim for a 15 tog for these chilly nights, and we have spotted one on Amazon that shoppers say “gives the best night’s sleep in ages”.
The Silentnight Warm & Cosy 15 Tog Duvet is currently so popular that it is an ‘Amazon Choice’ product with over 18,000 global reviews. As the highest tog, it is “perfect for cold winter seasons” and helps provide the “optimum temperature” for a cosy night’s sleep.
Packed with a fluffy fibre filling, reviews suggest that it is “like sleeping under a cloud”. Meanwhile, the soft microfibre fabric is easy to keep clean and can be popped in your washing machine at 40 degrees to remain fresh throughout the season.
Amazon has currently reduced the cost of each size of the Silentnight winter duvet. It can be purchased as a single (£19.45), double (£28.99), king size (£29.99) and super king (£31.99.)
Averaging an impressive 4.7 rating and nearly 15,000 five-star reviews, this Warm & Cosy 15 Tog Duvet has been snapped up by shoppers who say it is “perfect for the winter” and “keeps in the heat.”
One glowing review read: “Very happy with this duvet – lightweight and cosy and instant improvement on my previous duvet. For info, yesterday bought a fleece duvet cover and the combination of the duvet and fleece cover is amazing – the absolute cosiest and best night’s sleep in ages and perfect for the winter nights ahead.”

A second read: “This has to be the best quilt I have ever brought. I was a little bit unsure weather it would be to hot but it’s just right for me. Admittedly I am normally cold in bed and will sometimes have a hot water bottle in the summer but this quilt was just amazing, it’s like sleeping under a cloud. It’s not a heavy quilt but it’s so thick and fluffy. I don’t think I move all night. Never had such a good night’s sleep.”
Someone else gushed: “Love this duvet! Perfect for the winter. Not too heavy or thick, keeps in the heat and you never want to leave the bed. Really great for elderly who need the heat. Have not washed it yet but I am sure it will come up trumps there too. Good value for money.”
And another praised: “We purchased two of these to transition into autumn and winter and they are great. They’re lovely a warm and I don’t feel like I’m overheating, in fact I want to stay in bed now. Nice and thick, and not overly heavy.”
Not everyone left a positive review over the heavier weight, as one disappointed customer said: “Very thick and bouncy but was too hot and felt too thick even though it’s lightweight. Gave it to my teenager who says it’s great on a cold night but too thick for a duvet day.”

For those who might prefer something more suitable for all weathers, there is the Slumberdown All Seasons Combi 15 Tog White Duvet. Costing between £29 – £42 at Next, this duvet boasts both 4.5 and 10.5 togs that makes it ideal for “transitional months”.
However, if you do prefer the higher tog duvet, then you can check out Dunelm’s Wonderfully Warm 15 Tog Duvet. Included in the retailer’s ‘specialbuys’ section, it is priced between £16 – £32.
