Detectives are appealing for information after a horse box was deliberately set on fire in Allanton near Shotts.

The incident happened around 9pm on Thursday, October 3, on Mill Road. The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reported injuries.

Detective Constable Mark McNab, of Wishaw CID, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the time to get in touch.

“In particular we are asking anyone who was travelling through Allanton on the A71 around the time of the incident to check their dash cam footage for information that could assist with our investigation.”
