It has been quite the morning for Ed Balls, after he was left red-faced and flustered talking about Amanda Holden’s ‘buttery bottom’.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, joined co-host Susanna Reid, 53, in interviewing Amanda about her upcoming charity cycle.
The 53-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge is taking on the challenge of riding from Cornwall to London for Global’s Make Some Noise.
Amanda was given just one week to prepare herself for the 250mile journey, but previously revealed she’s found some help in using ‘bum butter’.
Speaking about the beauty product, Ed advised: ‘Apply often! The bum butter, I mean, often and thickly!’
Amanda replied: ‘I’ll think of you when I slap it on my bottom!’
As Susanna couldn’t hold back her laughter, a red-faced Ed added: ‘I’m thinking of it now Amanda! I think you might need to move on…’
Amanda elsewhere admitted she’s ‘nervous’ for the ride, but ‘fired up and ready to go’.
After revealing she’d ‘bulked up’ on scones for breakfast, with Ed asking whether she opts for jam or cream first, Amanda quipped: ‘I thought you were going to mention where I put the butter then, but it’s early morning television and children are watching, so…’
‘I hope you creamed up,’ Ed joked back, as Amanda explained how the bum butter would be helping her, laughing: ‘I’m trying to think of a good word to say… I’m lubed up!’
This comes after the Heart Radio presenter shared how she was taking on the cycling challenge for charity and ‘for weight loss’.
‘I’ll be like Davina McCall when I get back, I’ll be ripped,’ she said, according to The Sun.
She added: ‘I’ll probably have to start taking cod liver oil halfway through. Keep oiling up those joints.
‘I’ve spent the past few days trying to rest because I know I will be knackered.’
Amanda went on to say that as well as her ‘buttery bum’, she’s treated her feet to a pedicure to prepare.
‘At the end of each day I’ll be putting them into a bucket of iced water while I sip on a mojito.’
She added that she’ll be wearing her fake lashes the entirety of the five-day ride, quipping: ‘It’s going to be a real test of which ones stick on — and what brand of bum butter works best.’
