BLUEFIELD, W. Va. -If you are looking for something to get into the spirit of the season, you may want to check out Gary Bowling’s House of Art. On Sunday, they officially debuted a new art gallery with a fall and Halloween theme.
It features around seven artists from the local art group, the Appalachian Artist Association, showcasing their talents in a variety of mediums. Isaac Preston, the president of the group, says, if you’ve been following the works of these artists before, you may be surprised by some of the new art that they’ve unveiled. He encourages people to come check out art that you’ve likely never seen before.
“I like when artists have other forms and mediums that they work with, even though we don’t really bring it out there because, you know, it’s our babies, but, to let people know the other parts of us and it’s just essentially opening up a part of ourselves…” says Preston.
If you would like to check the new gallery, it will be on display at Gary Bowling’s House of Art throughout October on Saturdays 11:00 am – 2:00 pm You can also see the gallery when you attend the House of Art’s “Night School” haunted house.
For other times, you can contact the Appalachian Artist Association on Facebook. Preston says aspiring artists looking for advice and artists interested in joining the Appalachian Artist Association should also contact them on Facebook.
