Katie Price, known as much for her numerous cosmetic procedures as she is for her TV appearances, tumultuous love life and financial woes, has had a long history of plastic surgeries.

These include a nose job, veneers, lip fillers, liposuction, Botox, and her first facelift in 2017. However, it’s her breast augmentations, which she has had done a whopping 17 times, that are most notable.

Her ex-fiance, Carl Woods, has first hand experience of living with the former glamour model, who is constantly striving for surgical perfection. In an exclusive interview with OK! he opened up about their on and off relationship of three and a half years which ended last November.

Carl and Katie met through pals in 2020 and announced their engagement just 10 months later in 2021, the Mirror reports. The 35-year-old admits that his greatest fear regarding Katie’s “surgery addiction” is that it could one day be fatal with the star showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

After recently undergoing a £10,000 facelift in Turkey, her sixth to date, the 46-year-old even seemed to jovially mock herself when she declared: “I look plastic because I am plastic. At least I tell you all what I’ve done.”

Essex entrepreneur Carl and Love Island 2016 alum, has openly expressed his concerns about Katie’s intense pursuit of physical perfection through cosmetic surgery. He highlighted the potential dangers of her frequent procedures, stating: “They say in your life you can only have so much anaesthetic before it’s a problem.

“And like everything in her life, Kate likes to push the boundaries. I feel like she’ll never be happy. Unfortunately, there could be that final time she doesn’t wake up.

“Sadly, I do 100% believe that could happen. But Kate never spoke to me about being scared about it, she’d brush off all that talk.”

Carl’s anxiety became palpable following a disastrous journey to Turkey he took with Katie. They planned for Carl to have full body liposuction while Katie underwent the same, but the reality check came after seeing Katie drastically affected by the surgery.

Reflecting on his own self-image and the influences around him, he recounted: “I got wrapped up in it all for a while because she was constantly on this mission for perfection, so I started criticising myself. But when I saw her after her lipo, I was like, ‘Oh, my God. No, no way are they doing that to me’.”

Carl vividly remembers the severity of Katie’s condition after the operation. He recounts: “She looked like she’d been hit by a train. I told the doctors to take my cannula out there and then, and said, ‘I’m not going through with it.’

“She looked like an octopus, she had so many drains coming out of her. Her wounds had pus, they were bleeding, and she was crying in agony. I looked at her and I thought, ‘Why are you doing this to yourself?'”

Katie’s surgical journey was candidly shared on her YouTube channel, where she and Carl documented the unvarnished details of her operation. The video doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities, capturing Katie in excruciating pain as medical staff tend to her post-surgery needs.

The former glamour model has a long history with cosmetic procedures, having her first breast enhancement at 20. Despite this, in 2021, Katie claimed she wasn’t hooked on surgery – a statement her then-beau Carl contested, saying: “She’s totally addicted. In the time I was with her she had three boob jobs.”

During their time together, Carl was often targeted by online detractors who blamed him for encouraging Katie towards more cosmetic procedures. Yet, he counterclaims, detailing repeated efforts to prevent her from undergoing further surgeries: “It was very difficult I’d plead with her not to go ahead.

“I’d say, ‘You don’t need it. I’m worried this is going to kill you one day.’ But it was like talking to a brick wall. She’d brush it off. It’s a dangerous game she’s playing Russian roulette with her life.”

Additionally, Carl discussed the dilemma he faced when trying to be supportive without being branded as ‘controlling’. He explained: “You persist, and then you’re accused of being ‘controlling’. She would say, ‘You don’t want me to do this because you don’t want me to be attractive to other men.’ You’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.”

Furthermore, he reflected on Katie’s habit of concealing her self-doubts with tattoos, suggesting it’s part of her tendency towards addictive behaviour. He said: “Kate covers the parts of herself that she feels aren’t perfect with tattoos her latest addiction. But elements of your body will age regardless, like your knees.”

The question lingers whether vanity or a profound insecurity propels Katie to persistently pursue cosmetic interventions, in spite of assurances from loved ones regarding her natural beauty.

Carl has revealed that the former glamour model’s obsession with plastic surgery is not due to insecurity but a desire to “chase her youth”. He shared instances of finding Katie looking at old photos from her Jordan days and mimicking facelift effects.

Katie once explained her multiple surgeries on Good Morning Britain, comparing it to maintaining a car. She said: “It’s like a car you have an MOT. If you get a scratch or a dent, you fix it, and that’s how I feel with my body.”

The mum-of-five added: “I’m not trying to look younger and I definitely don’t want that alien look when people go over the top and look like freaks. I’m not addicted, but if people want to say I’ve got body dysmorphia, just say it. Even my mum says, ‘You need to see somebody. You’re not normal in the head, are you?”

On The Katie Price Show podcast, she recalled a conversation with her sister Sophie about a psychic who predicted she would die peacefully in her sleep. She said: “I was in America and I went and saw a lady with a crystal ball, you know, a medium or clairvoyant or whatever they’re called.

“I asked her, ‘How do you think I’m going to die? ‘ She replied: ‘Oh, you’re going to die in your sleep peacefully.’ She added: “If I have surgery again, what if I do go in my sleep…”

Carl, who is reportedly dating 25-year-old beautician Megan Bell, issued a stern warning to his ex-fiancee Katie. He said: “Katie has had more than enough people begging her to stop. One day, it’s going to be fatal.

“She’s had a couple of surgeons refuse to operate on her, but she just finds a different one who will. I pray to God I’m wrong, for her family, her kids and everyone who loves her.”

As for Katie’s current boyfriend, MAFS UK star JJ Slater, whom she’s been dating since February, Carl admitted he doesn’t know him well. He said: “I don’t know JJ and I don’t know if he’s going along with it, or he has the courage to try and stop her but even if he did, it would all fall on deaf ears.”

Carl shared the one message he would love for Katie to truly understand as he said: “I feel like she’s constantly butchering herself. I’d say, ‘Kate, grow old gracefully. Because, honestly, I wish you well. You’re already beautiful inside and out. Be happy in your own skin and just enjoy your life.”

A spokesperson for Katie responded to Carl’s comments, saying: “It’s disappointing that people who were once close to Kate are now exploiting her insecurities and mental health issues.”.
