Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left baffled after spotting a “toilet door left open” in live audience on BBC.
Over the weekend, Strictly fans were wowed with extravagant costumes and nostalgic film songs as movie week was underway. Tasha and Aljaž dominated the leaderboard as Barbie and Ken. PlusJudge Anton Du Beke wowed as he dressed up as the iconic Derek character from Zoolander, Craig Revel Horwood channelled Jonny Depp, while Motsi Mabuse looked like Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard.
Shirley Ballas also looked the part as she dressed as magical Mary Poppins. But despite the eye-catching outfits, audiences couldn’t help but be distracted and confused by a peculiar site behind the judges.
In strange video clip, shared on X (formerly X) , you can see a few pairs of knees behind the judges. The knees look detached from audience members’ bodies. The strange site in between dramatic blue lights has been compared to people sitting on toilet cubicle.
Cameraman Andy Laurence took to his account @driodcam and said: “Rather unfortunate positioning of two lady audience members on Strictly Come Dancing tonight. Looks like the loo door has been left open.”
Another user shared an image of the odd set up and said: “I came here to post this too. They really need to fill those gaps with additional lighters so we don’t see disembodied legs.”
“My husband thought it was the Halloween show and that this was some bizarre set decoration,” added another. And a viewer agreed: “Yes it is bizarre. Surely the producers would have noticed it.”
Another said: “I’m glad it wasn’t just me – annoyed me all evening!” “I kept saying that all the way through the evening, I’d have been mortified if those were my legs,” said another.
Another individual commented: “I agree, it looked awful! Nothing wrong with those ladies’ lovely legs, but just looked weird.”
The BBC have been contacted for a comment. Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday, October 5 at 6.25pm.
