BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Virginia State Police said they are investigating a fatal vehicle accident that happened in Smyth County.
According to the VSP, the accident happened on Oct. 6 at 7:18 p.m., in the 400 block of Stoney Battery Road in Smyth County.
A 2018 Ford F150 was heading south on Stoney Battery Road when the Virginia State Police said the truck went off the left side of the road and hit a tree.
Virginia State Police said the driver, 35-year-old Jason L. Greer from Marion, died at the scene of the wreck.
The crash is still under investigation, and Virginia State Police said Greer was not wearing a seatbelt.
