Following the triumph of Colleen Hoovers’ It Ends With Us, the best-selling novelist’s next book is set for a big-screen adaptation.

Universal has snatched up the film rights to her novel Reminders Of Him and has pencilled in Valentine’s Day 2026 for its cinematic release. The novel’s impact has been staggering; it sold over five million copies stateside, with a global reach of 6.5 million copies and translations into 45 languages.

The storyline traces the journey of Kenna Rowan returning to her roots after serving five years behind bars, as she yearns to make amends with her four year old daughter.

Kenna struggles to restart her life as those around her daughter steadfastly exclude her. She shared her excitement about the project: “I am thrilled to be working with Universal to bring Kenna Rowan’s world to life.”

She continued by recognising her readers’ connection to the story: “I hear from many readers who tell me they found something of themselves in her story of living with and through tragedy and doing the often messy and imperfect work of healing and turning the page to a fresh chapter in life.

“I am excited as Reminders of Him holds a special place in my heart too. I feel confident Universal is the right partner to do this story justice.”

Colleen also touched upon launching her production venture, expressing what she aims to achieve: “What better way to launch Heartbones Entertainment, my company with producing partner Lauren Levine. Our aim is to create something quite special for everyone.”

The film It Ends With Us, which was released in August and featured Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni and Brandon Sklenar in the main roles, received a mixed response from critics but proved to be a box office hit, reports OK!.

Despite the varied reviews, the movie raked in $344.6 million globally on a production budget of just $25 million, with audiences flocking to cinemas to watch the romantic drama.

The plot centres around Lily Bloom (played by Blake Lively), an aspiring entrepreneur who moves to Boston to open a flower shop after overcoming a difficult childhood.

She soon finds herself falling deeply for neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (portrayed by Justin Baldoni), but their relationship starts showing red flags.

To complicate matters further, her first love, Atlas Corrigan (played by Brandon Sklenar), comes back into her life, forcing her to make a crucial decision about her future.

Reminders of Him releases on February 13 2026.
