A child who was reported missing has been rescued from a car on a Midlands motorway.
The teenager was reported missing from Lancashire – nearly 100 miles away. A Honda was stopped near the J11 of the M6 before officers discovered the child inside.
Professionals are now safeguarding the 15-year-old, according to a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police, reports BirminghamLive.
They added that police officers took the child back to their home address. In a statement on X, cops said: “M6 J11 Honda stopped following concerns for a missing 15-year-old from @LancsPolice area.
“15-year-old found in the vehicle. They are now being safeguarded and being taken back to their residential care home by our officers.”
Alongside the news, police shared a picture of the traffic stop on the M6. It shows a Honda Civic with a marked police car in front of it with a BMW – possibly an unmarked police car – parked on the left-hand side.
