A mystery around the disappearance of a missing mum continues, with each day bringing fresh questions for her concerned loved ones.
Victoria Taylor vanished from her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, on Monday morning at about 9am. She has not been in contact with worried family or friends during that time, however last week police released an image of the 34-year-old taken from CCTV at a BP garage just two hours after she was last seen, sparking a huge search of the local area.
On Monday, another sighting of the nurse was confirmed by North Yorkshire Police – with the mum spotted at a bus station. Here is a breakdown of some of the questioned raised so far, as the search goes into its second week, The Mirror reports.
Unanswered question from CCTV clues
There have been two sightings confirmed by North Yorkshire Police of Victoria since her disappearance. CCTV footage first clocked her last Monday at 11.35am at the BP garage on Weldham Road, in the Norton area of Malton.
In those images, Victoria was wearing blue jeans and a black Adidas puffa jacket, which can be seen in the clips. For several days, this was the last sighting of the mum.
However, in a fresh update, detectives revealed she was then seen at 11.53am that Monday at Malton Bus Station on Railway Street. There were 18 minutes between the two sightings.
They beg several questions – where was she and what was she doing? Victoria’s family will hope she is one day able to answer these queries.
CCTV clues that ask more questions
Yesterday’s update from North Yorkshire Police, opened up more questions, with a 10 minute chunk of time unaccounted for between Victoria appearing at a BP garage, before then being pictured at the bus station 18 minutes later.
According to Google Maps, the two locations are an eight-minute walk, which possibly accounts for some of the time between her two sightings. But it still leaves 10 minutes unaccounted for.
The main question of course is why was Victoria at the bus stop on a Monday morning in October? A question that police have yet been able to answer.
Latest update from the police
Cops probing Victoria’s disappearance provided an update on Monday, as they revealed they were “open minded” as they continue their enquiries.
Officers have poured through CCTV, and undertaken extensive enquiries. Several witnesses have been interviewed as well as a thorough search of both “land and water”.
It has also emerged that some of Victoria’s belongings were found to close to the River Derwent the day after she disappearance, which is where officers are focusing their search to find her.
Despite the hard work and effort, there is no sign of the popular mum. The force said in the update: “We remain open minded and, whilst the investigation of Victoria’s movements has been thorough, we will continue to pursue existing and new lines of enquiry.
“Based on information obtained from these exhaustive enquiries, North Yorkshire Police is satisfied at the current time that there is no information to suggest any form of third-party involvement following the disappearance of Victoria and this remains a missing person case.”
What about friends, family and interested parties of Victoria?
Victoria’s disappearance sparked a huge response from friends and family via a Facebook page that was created last week.
The search page, now boasts an army of 8,000 followers where people can put forward their own ideas, offer of help and support.
The local community have joined the effort to find Victoria, with people printing out posters and putting them up.
The main thrust of the search for Victoria by her family and friends is via a Facebook page created last week.
Her story has been shared extensively. In short, her friends and family are doing all they can on their part to find Victoria. But she remains missing.
Last week, her sisters launched an emotional appeal for her to make contact with them as police divers continued their search in a river last week. It comes after her personal possessions were located close to the River Derwent. Her sisters Emma and Heidi said they “currently feel sick, distraught and lost.”
What of Victoria’s partner?
According to reports Victoria was set to marry her partner Matthew Grant Williams, with whom she shares a home and their two-year-old daughter.
Yesterday it emerged he has been targeted by cruel trolls who have pointed the finger at home over her disappearance.
One said on a public Facebook group designed to help support the search: “It’s sad to see people pointing the finger at her partner. It’s cruel as he is going through enough already without people doing that.” To which, another friend said: “It really is, he’s absolutely devastated.”
