About this Tip: Lots of people don’t realize that there is a filter in the bottom of the dishwasher that traps food particles and debris.
This must be cleaned.
If not, your dishes will have this smelly residue on them and the dishwasher will smell.
How to:
1. To clean the filter pull out the bottom rack on the dishwasher.
2. Look in the bottom. Generally there is a cylindrical tube that turns for removal.
3. Remove the filter and rinse this well.
4. Clean with hot water and soap, using a soft brush if needed.
5. Wash any other removable parts and the bottom of the dishwasher.
6. Replace and use your clean dishwasher.
• I suggest you do this monthly.
• When in doubt refer to your owners manual or look it up online.
• Filters that have not been cleaned in a long time can be nauseating so be prepared. A great money saver!
