A Wishaw group is hosting a charity jumble sale this week in order to raise funds.
The Made4UinML2 event takes place this Sunday afternoon with Emma Ferla, the charity’s skills and involvement co-ordinator, is hoping for a good turnout of locals.
She said: “In an initiative to have conversations about poverty in our community during poverty week we are promoting preloved items and sustainable fashion to help tackle the cost of living crisis.
“We will also be giving out free mental health packs which will include soup packs and breakfast packs.
“The event will have free refreshments along with a tombola and raffle for some community spirit raising funds for the centre.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some amazing bargains. These include clothes, books, toys, household goods and all the while supporting a great cause.
“Every penny raised goes directly to supporting our community programs and tackling poverty initiatives. So come along, pick up some treasures and make a difference in your local area.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated items! Your generosity means the world to us, and it’s making this event possible.”
Made4UinML2 work with children, young people and with the wider community around the theme of wellbeing, with the aim of seeing people encouraged, empowered and engaged; making a difference that matters in their community.
It is the charity’s long term hope that those living in Wishaw will see a community free of isolation, free of low self-worth and free of lack of opportunity for change.
The jumble sale takes place this Sunday, October 13, at the charity’s base in Greenfield Drive, Wishaw.
