Strictly fans are celebrating after the show’s Giovanni Pernice shared a huge career update.

Taking to Instagram, the controversial star revealed that he will be returning to the British dancing scene as he embarks on a nation-wide tour with fellow Strictly professional Anton Du Beke.

The Anton & Giovanni: Together Again tour will kick off in June 2025 and see the duo perform at more than 30 locations across the UK, with four venues confirmed for Scotland.

Giovanni’s comeback announcement marks a fresh start after a difficult year, which saw the star axed from Strictly Come Dancing’s 2024 line-up amid allegations of abusive behaviour.

The professional dancer, who has appeared on the show for nine seasons was accused of being verbally abusive and physically aggressive towards his celebrity dance partner Amanda Abbington. Although Pernice was cleared of some complaints, the BBC was forced to apologise to Abbington in September when an investigation upheld six out of the actress’ 17 allegations.

In a post shared with his 1.1 million followers, Pernice wrote: “BREAKING NEWS! If you were wondering now is confirmed!! The double act is back on the road! Me and my best friend @mrantondubeke are back on tour next summer!”

Scottish fans will be able to watch the comeback at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow, the Music Hall in Aberdeen, the Alhambra in Dunfermline, and the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.

The performances will follow Pernice’s solo Last Dance tour and Du Beke’s Showman tour, both of which conclude in May 2025.

Anton & Giovanni: Together Again is the latest collaboration between Pernice and Du Beke, who previously hosted the BBC One travel series Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures together. The show was cancelled in May during the BBC’s investigation into Pernice’s alleged bullying, leaving fans concerned that the Du Beke may have cut ties with his friend amidst the controversy.

Fans flocked to social media to celebrate the news that both Pernice’s friendship with Du Beke, and his British dancing career, is as strong as ever. One follower commented: “Fantastic news! I saw your show with Anton and loved it and your friendship”, with another adding: “Brilliant that he is still showing that he supports you ,hope you get back on strictly for next year”.
