Two Brooklyn men have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Long Island motorsports shop and assaulting and restraining an elderly man who witnessed the incident, officials said Wednesday.

Tristan Livingston, 27, and Justin St. Hill, 27, both of Brooklyn’s Canarsie neighborhood, are accused of breaking into Gold Coast Motorsports in New Hyde Park in the early hours of Aug. 13 and stealing five motorcycles valued at approximately $125,000.

During the burglary, a 75-year-old man who was walking his dog saw the two men breaking into the shop, officials said.

The two men then “assaulted the victim, threatened and restrained him, preventing him from leaving,” the Nassau County Police Department said in a news release.

The victim only managed to escape “after a prolonged struggle” with the two suspects, according to police.

On Tuesday, Nassau Police’s Major Case Squad, working in coordination with members of the New York and New Jersey U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested Livingston and St. Hill at their Brooklyn residence on charges of burglary, kidnapping and assault.

The two men were arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead and pleaded not guilty to the charges. Their bail was set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 insured bond and $125,000 partially secured surety bond.
