A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a brutal street death of a Scots dad.

David Graham, from Cambuslang, died from serious neck injuries after being attacked in the General’s Gate area of Uddingston, around 7.35pm on Sunday, October 6.

The 38-year-old was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but despite medics best efforts was pronounced dead on arrival.

A murder probe was launched this week into the death of the “very caring guy”. Cops today confirmed they have arrested a man in connection with David’s death. Officers say that enquiries are still ongoing.

A large police presence has been at the scene since Monday, with forensic officers spotted combing the street and detectives speaking to shock locals and checking CCTV footage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following the death of 38-year-old, David Graham, from Cambuslang, officers have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with his death.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.

“Around 7.35pm, on Sunday, 6 October, 2024, Mr Graham was walking in General’s Gate when he was attacked. He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but was pronounced dead on arrival.”

Tributes poured in for David this week, as the shock news broke of his death.

One person posted on social media: “Thoughts are with the family. David was a great guy, known well by all the community and was a very caring guy. Rip David. Love to all the family.”

Another added: “My heart and thoughts go out to family and friends. I truly am so sorry for your loss.” A third said: “Can’t believe it. You were some boy, Div Graham, you will be sadly missed by so many.”
