Wednesday’s episode of This Morning got off to a rocky start as the ITV programme began.
As viewers tuned in, they were greeted by hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley who were situated near the kitchen area, with Cat seemingly tinkering with some technical gear.
Ben remarked: “We had a rogue earpiece go AWOL as we came on air.”
Cat responded: “It did! And the avocado has rolled off. I mean, it doesn’t bode well ladies and gents! You may want to buckle up and get ready to come with us on this flight.”
Her co-presenter jokingly told her to keep things under control before they previewed the upcoming segments.
Yet, Cat’s earpiece troubles weren’t the only hiccup noticed by sharp-eyed viewers.
Before chatting with their initial guest, ex-Bake Off contestant Matt Lucas, Ben and Cat engaged in an odd bit, reports the Mirror.
Cat let viewers know that apparently, thousands of Brits end up injured by avocados annually.
To find out if there’s a safer method to manage and store avocados, the show connected with Mark Babbins from Folkestone.
However, the spelling of the town was botched on screen, missing the letter ‘e’.
It didn’t take long for the audience to spot the blunder and swiftly voice their displeasure on Twitter, with several expressing annoyance at the error.
One individual remarked: “I thought it was FolkEstone…”.
While another expressed their dismay by saying: “You have spelt my town’s name wrong. It is FOLKESTONE.”
Furthermore, a third person highlighted the mistake, posting: “Folkstone.”
In confusion, yet another enquired: “Where is ‘Folkstone’? “.
During the segment, Mark was seen demonstrating a safe technique for cutting an avocado. Ben interjected requesting a demonstration do-over as he observed: “A lot of people stab themselves while trying to get the stone out.
“Can you slowly do the stone bit again? I’ve seen, one of our chefs has done this for us in the past, that’s where I’ve learnt how to do it and that’s the secret to not stabbing yourself.”
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
