A West Lothian teenager has made her whole family proud after she went for the chop to raise over £1000 for two good causes.

Olivia McCrae decided to have her long blonde hair cut into a stylish bob to help children who are undergoing treatment for cancer.

The 13-year-old St Kent’s pupil donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust and raised enough through donations to split £1100 between the charity and the Goth in Armadale.

The teen, who has autism and ADHD, said she wanted to help kids feel good about themselves, because she “knows how it feels to be different”.

Her delighted mum Jennifer said: “She has raised in total £1100 and sent her hair and a donation to the Little Princess Trust and a donation to a local charity in Armadale called the Goth to help with much needed repairs so the can continue to help the local community.

“She got her hair cut at Talking Heads in Armadale by the amazing Fiona Holburn, who Olivia calls Auntie Fifi and it was live streamed on facebook on the day

“She wanted to give a child the gift of a wig and the chance to be the princess or prince that they are.

“We are so proud of her, she has autism and ADHD and she said that she knows what it’s like to be different from everyone else and if she can help someone to be happy just by cutting her hair then that make her so proud.

“Her little sister holly called her a superhero.”
