A Wishaw kids’ charity smashed through the £60,000 barrier thanks to its charity ball at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.

The Les Hoey DreamMaker Foundation’s biggest night of the year was another outstanding success, with all the cash going towards helping children with life-limiting illnesses.

Entertainment on the night was headlined by singer-songwriter Callum Beattie with support coming from Stonehouse singer Amy Louise and top band Till Death Do Us Party.

In total, a whopping £62,205 was raised on the night thanks to ticket sales, auction, raffle, silent auction and mystery bags.

DreamMaker co-ordinator Angela Cook said: “It was an amazing night. It was our 10th annual ball and I was so chuffed when we knew how much we raised.

“When Les, myself and Laura Cochrane went on stage and announced the total at the end of the night we all got very emotional.

“Callum was amazing and was so good with everyone. He kept the dancefloor full all night.

“It was great that Amy Louise was on stage. She was a DreamMaker when she was younger as we helped her when she was diagnosed with leukaemia.

“We have been trying to get Till Death Do Us Party at the ball for the past few years and they were incredible. We couldn’t speak highly enough of them.”
