ITV The Chase, featured a question about the iconic Forth Bridges that would have had locals yelling at their televisions. Ajay from Birmingham was the first to face The Sinnerman after securing £6,000 in the cash builder round and he started off strong – even correctly answering a question about the Forth Bridge and Forth Road Bridge.

Just three questions away from making it to the final chase, Ajay was asked: “How many years separated the opening of the Forth Rail Bridge and Forth Road Bridge – with options of 14, 44 or 74 years.”

Edinburgh locals would be quick to correct that the Forth Rail Bridge is more commonly known as the Forth Bridge, but Ajay chose the highest number, 74. The Forth Bridge officially opened in 1890, while the Forth Rail Bridge opened in 1964.

The Sinnerman also got the answer right but couldn’t catch up with Ajay, who secured his spot in the final chase alongside fellow contestants Jayne and Ben. The trio managed to score an impressive 22 correct answers in the final chase, leaving The Sinnerman speechless and needing a perfect performance to take away their £16,000.

However, the professional quizzer faltered on a few questions which led to multiple push backs from the team before time ran out, crowning them the winners, reports Edinburgh Live.

Previously we reported Darragh Ennis has shared his “top tips” for success on The Chase and they involve “immediately” saying something each time you hear two words.

The Chase star, 43, also known as ‘The Menace’ on the hit ITV show, opened up about the method on a recent episode of JaackMaate’s Happy Hour podcast (August 29th).

The Irish quizzer and neuroscientist, who joined the show in 2021, explained that certain topics elicit specific answers that you can say “immediately” upon hearing the questions.

Darragh spilled: “Top tip for The Chase; ‘which graffiti artist…’ – immediately say Banksy, because he’s the only one that they ask questions about.”

He also revealed another question that always has the same answer: “‘Which space agency…’ – NASA. It’s never the European Space Agency.”

Darragh originally appeared on The Chase as a contestant, achieving an impressive £9,000 in his cash builder before taking the same amount back to his team after he evaded Paul Sinha.
