Katie Price’s holiday has reportedly ended in pain – and it isn’t the first time she’s returned from her holidays with painful injuries.
The mum-of-five recently flew to Cyprus with boyfriend JJ Slater, but their sunshine break appears to have taken a less than relaxing turn after Katie reportedly slipped on a rock, injuring her ankle, reports the Mirror.
Instead of basking in the sun by the pool, Katie, 46, has been seen looking downcast as JJ dutifully pushes her around in a wheelchair. Still dressed in a lime green bikini, the former glamour model’s ankle is wrapped in a bandage – not exactly the sort of beachside accessory she’d have chosen.
Unfortunately, Katie has had a string of bad luck when it comes to agonising holiday accidents and previously declared she ‘will never be the same’ again after a terrifying incident back in 2020.
Kate fell over a 25-foot wall while staying in Turkey and required several surgeries, including an eight-hour operation, and recovery appears to have been slow.
For months, Katie was left in terrible pain and experienced difficulties walking, following an ordeal she says has ‘destroyed’ her feet.
Speaking to The Sun back in February 2021, Katie offered a stark six-word summary of her trauma, confessing: “I will never be the same”. Elaborating on her difficulties, she said: “I’ve got a limp when I walk now as one leg is longer than the other because of all the metal in the foot – I waddle like a duck. It does make me feel a bit paranoid. I’m registered disabled and have got letters from the doctors to certify me for a blue badge, which I’ve sent off for.”
Katie went on to share that doctors had seen similar conditions lead to amputation and that she subsequently attended The Priory to relearn walking.
Additionally, she used her YouTube channel to detail the cause of her ‘silly little accident’. In her own words:”I was running and jumped over a wall, as it was a little shortcut, and didn’t really judge the height. I just sort of fell funny on my ankles and I fractured the hairline on my heels and stuff.
“The hospital here wanted to operate and wanted to put pins in and stuff. Because I’m away, I’d rather wait until I get home. It’s the most painful thing ever. Like when I was trying to put the cast on, I was screaming in pain. They said I won’t be able to walk for three to six months.”
She also added a distressing anecdote about food poisoning.
In 2022, Katie was reportedly unwell with suspected food poisoning during a getaway to Thailand with then-partner Carl Woods. A source shared with the Mirror: “Katie suddenly got very sick. She has been throwing up and feeling poorly. Katie could possibly have got food poisoning, although she’s trying to not let it affect her holiday and time with Carl.”
Seemingly, the TV personality swiftly bounced back from the illness; later sightings showed her enjoying a beach walk in Thailand after getting an expansive horse tattoo on her stomach.
The boob job incident occurred in 2019 when Katie allegedly tore the stitches of a recent breast surgery during a rowdy evening in Turkey, accompanied by then-boyfriend Charles Drury.
The Sun received information from a source stating: “Katie woke up in so much pain after her big night out and thinks she’s pulled one or two stitches out of the scar from her recent boob reduction surgery. She doesn’t know if she did it in the club or in bed with Charles at night because she was so drunk.”
The same source also noted: “She’s totally ignoring doctors orders by sweating, getting in the pool and boozing until she’s almost unconscious. Her attitude is that she’s had so much surgery that she knows what she can and can’t do – but it’s going to leave horrible scars if she doesn’t stop ripping the stitches.”
In 2013, Katie Price was heavily pregnant and enjoying a holiday in France with her then-husband Kieran Hayler when she went into premature labour. French doctors had to perform an emergency caesarean.
Recalling the terrifying experience in an interview with The Sun, Katie said: “The next thing I know, a nurse is in my room saying: ‘Get ready now. You have five minutes to shower. You are having a C-section soon’. I started panicking. I have a terrible fear of needles and I was dreading the epidural. I got in the shower in shock. I kept thinking ‘This will be my last shower before I have my fourth child’.”
She added: “Bringing life into the world is supposed to be magical. But what I went through was a nightmare. […] The only thing that got me through the nightmare was the thought of cradling my little boy.”
Her son Jett Riviera was born weighing 5lbs 2oz and is now 10 years old. In 2020, on his seventh birthday, Katie paid tribute to her ‘unique’ son and reflected on his dramatic birth in a heartfelt Instagram post.
She wrote: “Wishing a massive Happy Birthday to my gorgeous baby Jett, can’t believe it was 7 years ago he was born so early and was in France and he has grown up to be a unique clever loving boy, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.”
