Princess Eugenie gave a hilarious four-word response when asked if she had an air-fryer at home.
The 34-year-old marks her wedding anniversary with husband Jack Brooksbanks tomorrow (October 12). And in an unearthed interview with the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, she shared a glimpse into their home life.
Eugenie revealed that neither her father Prince Andrew or mother Sarah Ferguson were good in the kitchen. And that she prefers to enjoy a lighter meal with her family.
When asked what her “last supper” would be, Eugenie said she would have a macaroni and cheese starter, a roast chicken dinner for main – with all the trimmings – and a lemon key lime pie-like dessert.
It was Eugenie’s choice of a roast dinner that prompted Lennie to ask if the princess had an air-fryer at home. She quizzed: “Where do you stand on air-fryers, have you got one of them?”
Only for Eugenie to reply: “No, what are they?”
Jessie went on to explain the small countertop ovens cook things “very quickly,” with her mother interjecting that a roast dinner could be made in the small appliance. Eugenie replied it “sounds interesting” confessing she “didn’t think” she had heard of an air-fryer.
King Charles’s niece went on to shed light on dinners at her family home. She explained: “Our ritual is kitchen dinners. So, baked potatoes in the oven, scrambled eggs, salad bits and things like that, a big mix and match.”
Lennie replied: “You’re out so much at big posh dinners that you don’t want that all the time.”
Eugenie went on to say she wouldn’t opt to have a full-time chef given the chance because “she can do that” herself. Instead, she would prefer to have someone who was a live-in hair stylist if she had unlimited money.
Marketing professional Jack began dating Eugenie in 2011. In 2018 the Duke of York’s office announced the pair were engaged, with their marriage taking place on October 12.
The pair share two sons, August and Ernest, together and spend part of the year living in Portugal. When in the UK, the couple reside at Ivy Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
While Eugenie may not have much knowledge about air fryers, many across the country do and there’s no better time to buy one.
