Princess Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie enjoyed a stylish day out this week, their first since Beatrice revealed she’s expecting her second child. The Royal sisters attended the Frieze Art Fair 2024 VIP preview in Regents Park, London on Wednesday, October 9 – an event known as one of the globe’s ‘most influential contemporary art fairs.’
The day provided a welcome break for the busy mums, allowing them to enjoy a quiet day away from the limelight while indulging their shared love of art. Princess Eugenie is a director at art gallery Hauser and Wirth, while Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer, often assists with interior design through his firm.
The happy pair were all smiles as they were snapped at the central London event, which also saw appearances from actor Benedict Cumberbatch and tennis star Emma Raducanu.
This outing marked a significant moment for the Royal siblings as it was their first public appearance together since Buckingham Palace announced Beatrice’s pregnancy on October 1. Both Beatrice and her husband are parents to two children, daughter Sienna, 3, and Christopher Woolf, 8, Edo’s son from a previous relationship, reports the Mirror.
Buckingham Palace has released a joyful statement announcing that Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their second child early next year. “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna,” the statement read.
“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
The announcement was accompanied by two charming photos of the couple’s growing family, as they look forward to welcoming another member into their fold. Following the announcement, Princess Eugenie and Sarah Ferguson were quick to express their heartfelt congratulations.
In a subsequent interview with Hello!, Princess Eugenie shared insights into her close relationship with her sister: “I ring her a lot about meltdowns and what we do and this and that.”
Eugenie also disclosed the thoughtful communication between them regarding an Instagram post celebrating the baby news. “When I was Instagramming that photo, I rang her, and I was like, ‘What do you want me to say? ‘ ” she said.
Beatrice’s response was endearing: “She said, ‘Can’t wait to talk about the trials and tribulations of motherhood.’ “.
“I posted about our mothering journey, because it really is like you become part of a club – a mothering club. And when your children are the same age and they’re going through the same things, it’s just the luckiest thing in the world … And Bea’s my big sister, I talk to her about everything,” she said.
