Liam Scales was one of the Ireland heroes in their win over Finland in Helsinki – and former teammate Mikey Johnston was right over to congratulate him.

Scales scored the equalising goal in the crucial Nations League clash before Robbie Brady’s late winner sent the hardy travelling support delirious. He’s not been fancied recently by Heimir Hallgrimsson but was given his fourth start in Finland and delivered.

The Ireland social media channels shared a clip of the full-time celebrations and Scales is seen living it up with Johnston, the West Brom winger an unused sub in the victory. The two share a touching hug and a joke before Scales goes on to take the plaudits from his current club teammate Adam Idah. As they walk down the tunnel, Scales gives the camera a big ‘come on!’ in celebration, before his teammate Chiedoze Ogbene declares ‘come on you boys in green!’

Elsewhere during the international break, Hyeongyu Oh is steadily finding his feet since leaving Parkhead and he was one of the South Korea scorers in their 2-0 win over Jordan. The former Hoops striker is now a super sub for club and country, scoring three times off the bench in his last three games for Genk, and replicated that form on the international scene.

He drove in from the left, chopping inside his man and driving a low finish into the bottom left corner to seal the win.
