There will be ghostly goings on at EK, East Kilbride this October as a host of free spooktacular attractions keep young visitors entertained over the school break.

The Little Shop of Halloween Horrors in Centre West will welcome brave young Halloween adventurers every weekend in October, with a gang of spooky characters, including scary skeletons, wacky witches, blood sucking bats, a petrifying pumpkin monster, and other spine tingling ghouls, all dying to say hello.

As All Hallow’s Eve draws closer, there will be an opportunity to get Halloween ready with a series of weird and wonderful workshops in Centre West.

From Monday, October 14 to Friday, October 18, youngsters can show of their creative skills as they try their hand at making despicable decorations, terrifying trick-or-treat bags and grisly glass lanterns at the event area in Centre West.

For those looking for an extra thrill, Zoolab will be back on Tuesday, October 15 with a special Creepy Critters show. Learn about fangs, claws, slime and webs as you get up close to slippery snakes, terrifying tarantulas, scary scorpions and more.

Commenting on EK’s spooky goings on, centre manager, Alan Smillie, said: “We have a host of fangtastic attractions planned for October that are guaranteed to keep young ghosts and ghouls entertained during October.”

The Little Shop of Halloween Horrors will welcome brave youngsters from 11am to 3pm every weekend throughout October and during the school holiday week from October 14-18. Entry is free for those who dare cross the threshold.

Ghoulish Glass Lanterns – decorate your very own lantern with a fangtastic design

Trick-or-Treat – create your own guising goodie bag for the big day on October 31

Friday, October 18 (11am to 4pm)

Halloween Paper Crafts – have a howling good time creating your own Halloween decorations.
