MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – A grand opening for Furever Fixed, a low cost spay and neuter clinic in Mercer County is expected to take place later this month.

The director for the low cost clinic, Connie Gillespie says the grand opening will be held on Oct. 28 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the clinic’s location on 1003 Shelter Road. The public will have the opportunity to tour the new clinic and see what it has to offer.

Gillespie says surgeries to spay and neuter cats and dogs are expected to begin on Nov. 5. She says the clinic is expected to spay and neuter around 40 cats and 13 dogs a week. The clinic will be performing surgeries three days a week but Gillespie says they’re hoping to expand to five days a week.

Gillespie says pricing for the low cost clinic is still being decided but she says the clinic is hoping to make the procedures as cheap as possible.

“We want to make sure all the contributions are accounted for. We’re still waiting on our non-profit 501(c)(3),” said Gillespie. “We still have donations coming in anyhow. Most of our donations have turned to pledges until that 501(c)(3) is finalized. We want to make sure we can offer the lowest price available in the area.”

Gillespie says November is already booked full of cats and dogs waiting to be spayed and neutered. She says a waiting list form is available. The form can be requested by emailing [email protected]m or by texting “waiting list” to 304-961-6184.

The form is also available at the clinic located at 1003 Shelter Road, Princeton, West Virginia. Forms can be picked up Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.
